FileZilla remains one of the most widely used and accepted file transfer protocols, used for making file transfers across multiple servers over a network. Ever since it’s development in the early 2000s by a team of three led by Tim Kosse, millions of users have been using this software to send and receive files over the internet. Webmasters use it to upload website scripts from their computers to host servers. It is currently the most recommended file transfer software, it doesn’t just provide support for FTP, FTPS, SFTP, but allows for large file transfers of more than 5GB as well. The FileZilla software is open source and comes as either FileZilla Client or FileZilla Server. The FileZilla Client is designed to be used across multiple platforms, it could be used with Windows, Linux, Mac Os, etc. while the FileZilla Server is only compatible with the Windows operating system. It remains a secure way to transfer files across servers and it supports IPv6.
